We are seeking an expert‑level Project Business Analyst to support a statewide Cloud POS Modernization initiative. This role is ideal for a senior analyst with deep experience in cloud‑hosted payment solutions, enterprise integrations, and complex modernization projects. You will partner with business leaders, technical teams, and vendors to drive requirements, testing, and deployment of a new cloud‑based point‑of‑sale platform supporting DMV operations across North Carolina.
The analyst partners with leadership, field operations, engineering teams, AWS/cloud architects, and vendors to ensure the solution meets modernization objectives, improves reliability, restores NFC/contactless acceptance, and integrates cleanly with DMV enterprise systems.
Lead elicitation and validation of business, functional, non‑functional, and compliance requirements for cloud‑hosted cashiering, payment processing, device management, and financial reporting.
Translate modernization drivers—such as PCI DSS compliance risks, device management constraints, and reconciliation issues (duplicate charges, refund delays)—into actionable requirements.
Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, data‑flow diagrams, and integration specifications for an integrated AWS‑hosted point-of-sale solution.
Support UAT cycles, validating performance, stability, customer‑experience improvements, and compliance outcomes.
Evaluate sync processes between cloud POS, DMV backend systems, and enterprise financial platforms.
Support phased statewide rollout preparation, including pilot plans, training coordination, device estate planning, and operational readiness.
This role requires 4+ years of professional cloud experience, preferably across AWS and Azure, including:
• Secure API‑based payment integrations and data synchronization
• Scalable architecture analysis for high‑volume transaction processing
• Performance optimization and monitoring of cloud‑hosted transactional systems
• Understanding of PCI DSS v4.0, P2PE, encryption, and tokenization workflows, consistent with the modernization strategy
Responsibilities and required skills
Experience supporting and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for complex enterprise solutions (7 Years)
Expert-level experience with cloud-hosted point-of-sale (POS) and payment processing solutions (7 Years)
Strong background in enterprise systems integration and modernization initiatives (7 Years)
Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud architectures supporting POS and payment systems (7 Years)
Ability to translate modernization drivers (e.g., PCI DSS risks, device constraints, reconciliation issues) into actionable requirements (7 Years)
Strong understanding of payment device management, NFC/contactless acceptance, and cashiering processes (7 Years)
Ability to assess performance, stability, customer-experience outcomes, and compliance alignment during testing and deployment (7 Years)
Proficiency in eliciting, analyzing, and validating business, functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements (7 Years)
